Taking Application For the James Weldon Johnson and A. Langston Taylor Scholarships!

Kappa Alpha Sigma is pleased to offer our annual James Weldon Johnson and A. Langston Taylor Scholarships for deserving students. Each scholarship is for $1,000 and will be awarded at our annual scholarship banquet on December 11, 2010. The James Weldon Johnson scholarship application can be downloaded by clicking here. This scholarship is for high school seniors.

The A. Langston Taylor scholarship is targeted for college sophomores and juniors and can be downloaded by clicking here.

Detailed information about the requirements of eligibility can be found in both packets. All applications must be postmarked by October 16th for consideration.

Tickets on Sale for Kappa Alpha Sigma's Annual Scholarship Banquet

On December 11, 2010, Kappa Alpha Sigma will host our annual Scholarship Banquet dinner and chapter anniversary. This year's black tie event will be at the Double Tree Hotel at 4156 Lavista Road, Tucker GA 30084.

The theme for this year's event is "Honoring Tomorrow's Leader's Today". For those who have been to our past scholarship banquets, we promise to continue to strive to make each year's event better than the year before. To that end, we are looking to have not only a DJ for dancing after the dinner but also a top notch live band during dinner. For dinner, you will have a choice of either griller salmon or roaster herb chicken.

The cocktail and fellowship hour will start at 6 PM and the actual event will start at 7 PM sharp. If you wish to attend this gala affair and support the educational pursuits of two deserving students, as well as recognize community leaders whom are making a difference for all of us, please see one of the chapter brothers to purchase a ticket or you can order online and have your tickets waiting for you. 	Kappa Alpha Sigma has been named the Bigger and Better Business Chapter of the Year, Chapter Report of the Year and Model Chapter of the Year for 2010 for the Southern Region!

	Kappa Alpha Sigma has been named Partner of the Year for 2010 by our sorors of Kappa Iota Zeta during their Hall of Fame banquet.

Statement on Hazing Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. takes any form of reported hazing very seriously. Hazing has not and does not represent the traditions of the 95 year history of our fraternity.

Georgia Hazing Law- § 16-5-61. Hazing It shall be unlawful for any person to haze any student in connection with or as a condition or precondition of gaining acceptance, membership, office, or other status in a school organization. Any person who violates this Code section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature.
